K-2 Grade Level:
The kindergarten, 1st and 2nd grade program for both boys and girls is designed to simply introduce the sport of lacrosse to these young players, developing basic skills in a non-competitive, non-contact, fun environment. For these players, there is one practice a week and no formal schedule of games against other teams. Last year the Club hosted a year-end jamboree, where these young lacrosse players did have the opportunity to participate in non-contact games with teams from other clubs as well as learn from some local college players and coaches. Given the enormous success of this inaugural program, we anticipate a similar program this season. Required Equipment: Boys: Mouth guard, goggles or helmet, boys stick (full size-men’s that can be cut to appropriate length) Girls: Mouth guard, goggles, stick (full size-women’s that can be cut to appropriate length) 3-4 Grade Level:
Boys: Mouth guard, helmet, boys stick (full size-men’s), shoulder pads, elbow pads, athletic supporter with cup, gloves. We encourage but don’t require rib pads. Long Poles/Defensive sticks are used at this level for boys.
For girls lacrosse, the following equipment is required: stick, eye protection, mouth guard and cleats. The cleats can not have metal tips and should be made of molded rubber. |
